Are you planning to run a website for the foreseeable future? Do you want to make a name for yourself? Do you want to catch someone’s eye, and grab their attention? On the Internet, your domain can mean the difference between success and failure.
Keep the domain short, but make it say something. If you plan on people typing your URL to get to your site the first time, make it something they can remember, and ideally something that makes them think of your products and services. Use a little investigation, and plan for the lowest possible denominator.
Another trick is to get a domain that is very similar to a competitor’s domain name, hoping to cash in on confusing or incorrect spellings. Some would say this is an underhanded way to get business, and it is not something that we would personally advise, but the option exists, and the potential to cash in on a similar name has been exploited successfully time and again..enough so that it is worthy of being mentioned.
Should you company name be all or part of your domain name? In some ways, this s a matter of personal preference, but the most successful websites we’ve found all seem to do so. Some clarification may be in order, though, as using a name no one has ever heard of isn’t going to draw in visitors, unless there is some way to relate the company to product’s or services. This can be achieved online by using various marketing services, and is the way even the biggest names keep their domain names in front of people, building an association between the name, and particular set of products or services. One example is eBay, whose domain alone makes a person think of auctions and one of the widest varieties of new and used products to be found in the whole world.
But remember to keep it short. If you need something to keep that fresh in your mind, remember that you will be typing and writing your domain more times than anyone else, so the more complicated you make it, the more extra work you will be creating for yourself in the time to follow. You may not have ever heard of it, but there is an acronym which sums it up precisely: KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly)

makes sense. a domain name is like a nickname, you want something that people will remember you by and most importantly you want something that makes you sound cool. the same rules apply to domain names, easy to remember and something cool so that the person does not mind typing either.
