For my needs, google always seems to be right on the money, but sometimes I have to look through a lot of results for yahoo. It is easy to see why people don't like pop up windows, and I guess that's a good reason for search engines to not like them as well. In a way, in a search engine like yahoo, seo just means trying to get the best information to the readers.
