Many SEO writers really underestimate the power of keyword stemming. This is the process of using a popular keyword and modifying it in order to generate more hits from search engines.
For example, the term “advertise” would be stemmed with prefixes, suffixes and other modifiers in order to come up with words like “advertisers”, “advertising”, or “advertisements”. That way, people who use search for stuff in search engines under the concept of “advertise” can fall into the keyword basket and get included into website traffic.
It makes sense, since people don’t really use the same word all the time – the word “advertise” will usually transform depending on how they use it. Hence, we need to stem these words with something to make sure more people make their way to these websites. Also, stemming helps protect websites from being accidentally blacklisted because of “repetition” of the same words.
So don’t underestimate keyword stemming. It doesn’t take much creativity, but it doesn’t mean it can’t do much for your website.
